Smith in the Community
The Smith Insurance Employee Charitable Giving Committee, now known as the Lighthouse Project, was formed to oversee the community partnership and donation incentive in which Smith Insurance has been actively engaged in for many years. In the past two years, through company matched funds, the employees of Smith Insurance have raised over $13,000 for local individuals and organizations in need. The employees of Smith Insurance, through the Lighthouse Project, are committed to improving the community through a variety of fund raising initiatives.
November & December
Children's Museum of Southeastern Connecticut. The Children's Museum of Southeastern Connecticut started back in May 1992 by a group of East Lyme volunteers. The museum was created in order to provide an interactive, creative, and educational learning experiences for young children and their families who are a part of the community, or who may just want to stop in an enjoy what the museum has to offer.
Toys for Tots. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

September & October
East Lyme Police Cadets. This program is designed to provide youth, ages of 13-20, insight into the career field of Law Enforcement. It’s also about fostering friendships between police officers, youth members and their peers. To learn more about the East Lyme Police Cadets, click here.
July & August

May & June

March & April:

January & February:
Covenant Shelter of New London: Providing emergency housing needs for
the people of New London County. Over 7 large bags of clothing have been
collected as of January 31st. Additional donations are welcome. To learn more
