The Lighthouse Project

The Smith Insurance Lighthouse Project is an employee run committee formed to oversee the community partnership and donation incentive in which Smith Insurance has been engaged for many years. Over two month intervals, the Lighthouse Project raises money by “Casual Friday” donations and half day-off raffles which is matched by the company, along with special events. Since the committee’s inception in 2011, The Lighthouse Project has presented over $40,000 in donations to local individuals and organizations in need.

The Employees of Smith Insurance, through The Lighthouse Project, are committed to improving the community through a variety of fund raising initiatives.

Featured Charity

For the months of July and August, The Lighthouse Project will be collecting for Safe Futures.

Safe Futures is a local nonprofit organization committed to saving lives, restoring hope, and fostering change for the future for those impacted by sexual assault and domestic violence in Southeastern Connecticut.

Safe Futures has been helping women locally and globally since 1976 and continue to find new ways to offer a safe future for women on a daily basis. Currently, they have two 24-hour hotlines in addition to their emergency shelter that leads to a family-friendly transitional living program.

Help us in assisting Safe Futures so that they can continue helping women live safer lives!

In addition to our monetary collection, we will be collecting gently used shoes (all sizes, ages, and genders). Drop off your donation to our office today!
